MANUAL HANDLING TRAINING COURSES

Below is a basic description of the level of each course, suitability, duration and content. For a more detailed description of the course content please click on the syllabus links on the left.

Manual Handling Principles - useful for all staff, this 2 hour course is an entry level course for the workplace. The course covers Manual Handling Statistics and legislation, employee responsibilities, common Manual Handling injuries and causes, prevention, identifying hazards and best practice. This course is instructor
assessed. Maximum of 30 candidates per course (subject to space), price includes certificate of attendance. N.B there is NO practical manual handling on the above course

Manual Handling Principles and Practice - useful for all staff, this 3 hour course is a standard course for the workplace. The course covers Manual Handling Statistics and legislation, employee responsibilities, common Manual Handling injuries and causes, prevention, identifying hazards and best practice. Also this course
includes a practical lifting and moving workshop where attendees will be able to practice and assess their own technique. This course is instructor assessed. Maximum of 15 candidates per course (subject
to space), price includes certificate valid for 3 years. N.B. more than one course could be run on a single day

Manual Handling - People - specifically aimed at staff involved in care, moving lifting and carrying people, casualties or patients, this 3 hour course is a standard course for the workplace. The course covers Manual Handling Statistics and legislation, employee responsibilities, common Manual Handling injuries and causes,
prevention, identifying hazards and best practice. Also this course includes a practical lifting and moving workshop where attendees will be able to practice and assess their own technique. This course
is instructor assessed. Maximum of 15 candidates per course (subject to space), price includes certificate (valid for 3 years). N.B. at the request of the client, lifting/ moving aids can be included

Manual Handling - Objects- specifically aimed at staff involved in warehousing, stock movement, furniture removals etc. this 3 hour course is a standard course for the workplace. The course covers Manual Handling Statistics and legislation, employee responsibilities, common Manual Handling injuries and causes, prevention, identifying hazards and best practice. Also this course includes a practical lifting and moving workshop where attendees will be able to practice and assess their own technique. This course is instructor assessed. Maximum of 15 candidates per course (subject to space), price includes certificate (valid for 3 years).
