COURSES
Appointed Person – this is
a 1 day (6 hour) course. The course is suitable for use in low to medium
risk environments such as shops and offices where staff numbers are below
50. Course syllabus includes contents of first aid kits, responsibilities
of the first aider, the law, accident reporting, recovery position, CPR,
treatment of First Aid at Work – this is
a 4 day (24 hour) course. The course is suitable for use in low risk environments
such as larger shops and offices as well as high risk environments such
as construction sites and factories. Course syllabus includes definition
aims and principles of first aid, contents of first aid kits, responsibilities
of the first aider, the law, accident reporting, Recovery position, CPR,
Treatment of bleeding and all medical conditions likely to arise such
as anaphylaxia, breaks, burns, choking, diabetes, epilepsy, head injuries,
heart attack, angina, stroke, shock etc. This course is independently
and externally assessed. Maximum of 12 candidates per course, price includes
a first aid manual, assessment fees and certification (valid for 3 years). First Aid at Work Renewal - this
is a 2 day (12 hours) course. Pre-requisite is a current (in date or within
28 days of expiry) HSE approved FAW qualification. Syllabus as for the
4 day First Aid at Work course although less detailed due the renewing
of the qualification. This course is independently and externally assessed.
Maximum of 12 candidates per course, price includes First aid manual,
assessment fees and certification (valid for 3 years). NaRS Paediatric First Aid –
this is a 2 day (12 hour) course and is a Pre-School Learning Alliance
and National Childminding Association approved course. This course is
ideally suited for those working with children and required to have a
suitable qualification recognised by OFSTED such as nurseries, crèches
and holiday play
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation - this is a 2 hour course and is an entry level resuscitation qualification. The course covers primary assessment of a casualty, CPR, and recovery position. This course is instructor assessed. Maximum of 15 candidates per course, price includes certification (valid for 3 years). Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Operator – this is a 4 hour course. This course is suitable for those working at a site or venue which has a defibrillator such as shopping centres and sport / leisure centres. The course syllabus includes Primary assessment, CPR, safe use of an AED, the theory of cardiac arrest, chain of survival, heart attacks etc. This course is trainer assessed. Maximum of 6 candidates per course, price includes AED and emergency aid manual and certification (valid for 6 months).
